GOOD NEWS FROM HAITI

Vin_HaitianStudentsIn these difficult times, it is wonderful to get some good news.  We have been able to confirm that our four Haitian students from the 2009 Summer Intensive are all safe and well.  Blandish, Sophonie, Foreste and Judin and their families and fellow countrymen will be in our thoughts as we continue our efforts to help Haiti rebuild.

We're also excited that Operation Baby Formula continues to be a success with more cases reaching orphanages in Haiti.  We're making a difference, but need all the help we can get!

We thank you all for your support and positive energy.

OPERATION BABY FORMULA

The One Race Global Film Foundation is working to protect babies who are dying in orphanages in Haiti due to lack of proper food distribution by the Red Cross and UN. Based on our assessment on the ground, the quickest way to get formula to them is through an underground delivery system we have created.

For $150 (a 30% discount) we can buy a case of 24 canisters of baby formula direct from the distributor Mead Johnson in the Dominican Republic, which our students can drive across the border and personally guarantee gets delivered to orphanages. We have already shipped 100 cases that have arrived safely.

If you would like to help, you can donate through our donations page.  All donations during this time period will get diverted to this cause.

Vin Diesel and Presidente Fernandez in Paris

Vinparis

Vin Diesel attended a meeting at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris today to present the launch of the One Race Global Film Foundation for Peace and Development.  The first initiative of this program, in collaboration with Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti and President Leonel Fernandez of the Dominican Republic, brought Haitian student ambassadors to Santo Domingo to participate in the ORGFF’s Summer Intensive Institute.  The ORGFF for Peace and Development seeks to use film production as a tool for promoting conflict resolution and intercultural exchanges between nations historically at odds.
